Plant Mix Asphalt
The heart of our operation lies in our four family-operated asphalt plants, where quality control happens in real-time. Our on-site laboratories allow us to:

By incorporating Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP), Engineered Crumb Rubber (ECR), and Warm Mix Asphalt Technology (WMA) in our mix designs, we’re able to deliver materials that perform better while doing better for our environment
Cold Mix Asphalt
West Contracting proudly partners with Unique Paving Materials (UPM®) as the only certified producer of UPM® in the St. Louis Region. This specialized cold mix material enables timely and cost-effective pothole repairs throughout St. Louis and Missouri, preserving smoother, safer drives on roads and highways.Available in convenient 50lb bags or by the ton, our cold mix solutions provide the flexibility you need for maintenance projects of any size.

On-Site Quality Control Laboratories
Our in-house laboratories are more than facilities—they’re where innovation meets craftsmanship. Each of our asphalt plants features on-site quality control laboratories that allow our experienced team to:
- Continuously monitor production quality
- Rapidly respond to customer specifications
- Ensure consistency from batch to batch
- Adapt quickly to changing project requirements
This hands-on approach means we can provide cost-effective, durable asphalt mixtures that meet even the most rigorous specifications while maintaining the personal service that’s been our hallmark for over six decades.
Testing Laboratory Headquarters
Built in 2006, our state-of-the-art Testing Laboratory represents our ongoing commitment to quality and innovation. This facility houses our expanding inventory of mix design and quality control equipment while providing offices for our quality control team and MoDOT partners.
West Contracting’s laboratories are fully equipped for all asphalt mix design and testing requirements. We participate in the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) Proficiency Sample Program, enabling rapid approval of mix designs and ensuring our materials meet or exceed industry standards.
